COURSE OUTCOMESOn successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for 11029 Nat Course in Firearms Safety (Approved for Firearms Licensing in Queensland).This course meets the training requirements to apply for a QLD Weapons Licence for the particular categories selected.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTSIn order to participate in this course, students must meet the following requirements:
Must be over 18 years of ageChildren of at least 11 years of age can use certain firearms with approved adult supervision under a minors licence. Must have written permission to attend the courseMust not have any physical or other impairment which would prevent you from handling firearms safely – if unsure, seek advice from your GP or contact us to discuss suitabilityMust not have any criminal convictions (relating to drug use, violence or weapons) in the past five yearsMust not have been a subject to a domestic violence order in the past five yearsMust not have been a subject to an involuntary mental health order in the past five yearsThis course is delivered face-to-face over 6-8 hours including a live fire range practice.RESOURCES AND EQUIPMENTAll equipment will be provided and notes provided for referencing once the course is completed. Enclosed shoes needed to be worn.
Participants are asked to bring lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.
COSTCost of the courses vary depending on category. This includes all reference material and all ammunition for all firearms categories used.
Master Training will protect fees paid in advance and has a fair and reasonable refund policy.

- NAT11029001 Demonstrate knowledge of weapons legislation, weapons, and community safety
- Electives:
- NAT11029002 Use Category A and B firearms lawfully, safely, and responsibly

- Recreational Shooting.

- Category C
- Units: NAT11029003 Use Category C firearms lawfully, safely, and responsibly
- Available to: Primary producers e.g. farmers, rural employees, professional shooters, aerial shooting/pest controllers, commercial fishing or any other occupational use.
- Recreational clay target shooting only for those with a medical certificate (stating a lack of physical strength or dexterity).
- Category D Units: NAT11029004 Use Category D firearms lawfully, safely, and responsibly
- Available to: Occupational use only. For feral animal vermin control for primary production or rural employees, aerial shooters and professional vermin controllers. Applicants must prove primary production status or proof of employment.
- Category H Units: NAT11029005 Use Category H firearms lawfully, safely, and responsibly
- Available to: Pistol club shooting.
- Primary production farmers. Handgun use only on an approved primary production property.
- Category M Units: NAT11029006 Use Category M (Crossbows) lawfully, safely, and responsibly
- NAT11029007 Use Category M (Miscellaneous Weapons) lawfully, safely, and responsibly
- Available to:
- Anyone wishing to get crossbow licence for hunting or club use.
- Junior Shooters: Must be 11 years and up for a minors license. (Once the minor becomes 18+ years of age they can apply for full, adult licenses)
